John and I were students together in the Botany Department at University of North Carolina.
I enjoyed his camaraderie immensely. He had a get sense of humor and a great intellect. We felt a special bond as we were certain in the early 70's we were the only 2 Armenians living " south of the mason dixon line". I am sad to learn of his passing and I will continue to relish the days we enjoyed together as young scientists. My warm regards to his family.
Respectfully,

John and I were graduate school classmates and worked together for a time at the UNC School of Medicine. John was both smart and funny. He could always be depended upon to bring a sharp mind and a considerable fund of knowledge to issues of science and to keep it all in perspective with his humor and charm. I have not seen John in many years but knowing that he is not among us leaves me with sadness.

Linda and Greg,
I am so sorry for your loss and wish comfort and healing for you. John was a warm, wonderful, witty, generous man and an accomplished scientist. I will always remember our days at The Foundation especially the social times on Friday evenings. I am happy that I had the great fortune of calling him a friend and will miss him greatly.
