HOLDEN – William “Bill” Perkins, Sr, a lifelong resident of Holden, died Saturday, July 23,2022 at Knollwood Nursing Center with his beloved wife of 65 years, Nancy (Lander) Perkins by his side.
He leaves his daughter, Debra Reed and her husband Charles, 11 grandchildren, Melanie Todd and her husband Paul, Natalie Barrera and her husband Rudolfo, Jonathan Reed and his wife Kristie, Alexander Reed, Nancy Johnson and her husband William, Lyndon Perkins, Chloe Laccetti and her husband Richard, Taylor, Ryan, William, and Paige Perkins; 11 great-grandchildren, Xavier, Aurora, Gavino and Ruben Barrera, Benjamin and Adeline Johnson, Tyler and Austin Sawicki, Mason and Theodore Laccetti, and Gianna Perkins. He was predeceased by his son Bill Jr in 2014.
Bill and Nancy owned and operated Holden Farms Nursery and Perkins Landscaping in Holden for many years. He served in the United States Air Force and worked at Heald Machinery as well as at various other jobs. He was a member of the Burncoat Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
What he loved most was spending time with his wife and grandchildren. He also enjoyed trips to Maine, playing cards, going camping and gardening, going to the beach, painting, drawing, wood burning and playing the guitar.
Memorial Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 659 Franklin Street, Worcester on Saturday August 6, 2022 with a calling hour from 1:30 to 2 pm followed by a Memorial talk.
