Wilfred Comtois Obituary

AUBURN – Wilfred O. Comtois, 98, of Auburn, died on Monday, May 29, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

His wife of 75 years, Adrienne M. (Gauthier) Comtois, died in May, 2022.  He leaves three children, Lucille Talbot of Worcester, Paul Comtois and partner Jackie Mileskie of Ludlow, and Jacqueline Livingstone and partner Robert Daigneault of Webster; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Lorraine Raymond, granddaughter Kimberly Brooks, grandson Matthew Raymond, sons-in-law Richard Talbot, Richard Raymond, and Paul Brooks Jr, 2 brothers, Raymond and Louis Comtois and seven sisters, Germaine Roy, Bertha Comtois, Theresa Latour, Cecile LaPrade, Lucille Jarvis, Irene Martel, and Carmen Alicandro; his brothers-in-law Jean Guy and Armand Gauthier.  He was born in Worcester, son of Joseph A. and Rose Alba (Brouillette) Comtois.  He lived in Worcester and East Longmeadow for many years before moving to Auburn.

Wilfred was a devoted family man. He worked for Hood Dairy Company, first in Worcester and later in Agawam.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific where he was a part of the rebuilding of Pearl Harbor  He was a member of the Retired Men’s Club of Greendale and its bowling league.  He was a member of North American Martyrs Church in Auburn and previously a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Worcester.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St, Worcester, with a calling hour from 9:00-9:45 AM at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.  Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donation for supplies to the Life Care Center of Auburn's Activity Center (14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA 01501).
