Virginia A. "Ginny" Rose Obituary

SHREWSBURY – Virginia A. “Ginny” Rose, 95, died Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Julio Drive.


She was born on August 24, 1930 in Fitchburg, daughter of Frederick C. and Ruth E. (Burrage) Rose.  She graduated from Fitchburg High School and later from Boston University with a master’s degree in physical education.  She accepted a position teaching PE in the Amityville school system on Long Island, NY.  In her late 50’s she came to Shrewsbury and worked at a plastics factory in Worcester. 


She leaves her twin brothers: Richard F. Rose and his wife Judy of Inverness, Florida and Robert F. Rose and his wife Geri of Brunswick, Maine; her cousin Diane Shepard and her husband Elvin of Leominster; her former neighbors Fanya Pliszka of Providence, Rhode Island and Sarah Jane Frankel and her daughter Marlaina Lambert-Frankel of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. 


Virginia was active in the Williamsburg Court Condominium community of Shrewsbury, taking care of her neighbors until 2019. She enjoyed taking care of others and sharing her time with others.  She loved nature, birds, flowers, and loved to listen to music and read books.


Fanya Pliszka has been Virginia’s legal guardian and caretaker since 2019.


Funeral services are private and in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
