WORCESTER – Victoriano Baez Velez, 94, of Worcester, died Saturday, April 2, 2022 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

His wife, Felicita Hernandez, died in October, 2021.  He leaves three sons, Andres E. Baez of Worcester, with whom he lived, Nelson Baez of Puerto Rico, and Edwin Baez of Worcester; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  He was one of eight children and is survived by one brother and one sister in Puerto Rico.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Maribel Baez.  He was born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, son of Andres Baez and Josefa Velez and has lived here since 2013. 

Victoriano was a nurse / medic at the V.A. Hospital in San Juan, P.R.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. 

The funeral will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 11:00 am at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave.  Burial with military honors will follow in Hope Cemetery.  Calling hours are Tuesday, April 5 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
