Trung Khuu Obituary
WORCESTER – Trung Khuu, 80, of Worcester, died Saturday, October 4, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital.
Born on June 15, 1945 in Tra Vinh, Vietnam, the son of Khanh Ngoc Khuu and Nhut Thi Son. His wife of 20 years, Loan Tran, passed in 1984. He leaves two sons, Khanh Khuu of Virginia and Thien Khuu - his wife, Diep Nguyen, and three grandchildren, Zuri, Calli, and Max, of California. Lastly, his youngest child, a daughter with Jeneffer Nguyen - Virginia Nguyen, and her husband, Rivko Chea, of California; his siblings, Bach Khuu and Christine Khuu; and nieces and nephews. He has called Worcester, Massachusetts, his home for over a decade.
Trung is a hero of the Vietnam War. He served his country with valor and honor, earning recognition as a Silver Team Leader and proudly carrying the title of Vietnam Veteran throughout his life. After the war, he worked as an assembler of machine parts in Vietnam and carried his craft over to America, where he retired a few extra years after the age of 65. Trung’s tireless work ethic shone through long commutes, late-night shifts, and countless overtime hours to earn a living. Even beyond retirement, Trung continued to embody the spirit of resilience and quiet strength like a warrior. Those who knew him will remember his humor and unwavering optimism. A jokester at heart, he could light up any room with his smile, a smile he would wear even in the face of hardship, and he stayed true to that until his very last breath. He loved to keep his mind sharp and challenged by reading and listening to the news. His passion for cars never faded, even when his body grew too weak to drive. Buffet outings became small celebrations of joy for Trung. He invested in karaoke systems and sang his heart out at home, but also didn’t shy away from the microphone at parties. Trung had a passion for both music and photography. He never forgets to capture the picture-perfect moment, often exceeding his iPhone camera roll storage and creating over 15 physical photo albums throughout the years of his family and selfies. He was a handsome man who surely knew his best angles. In his later years, Trung cherished the companionship of his best friend and significant other, Tiffani Le, who loved him deeply and never left his side since they met. Ensuring that he spent his final days surrounded by love and comfort. Trung lived a very long life, woven with stories of endurance through some of humanity’s darkest hours, from surviving World War II to the global pandemic of 2020. Despite his long-term chronic illness, he fought with the heart of a warrior, determined to witness his family’s milestones unfold. He lived to witness his children’s triumphs, the birth of his grandchildren, his sons and daughter finding their lifelong partners, and one of his proudest moments - watching his only daughter graduate from college in 2024 after he almost didn’t make it that year. That is all a testament to his strength and the love he has for those closest to him. Trung’s journey reminds us that greatness lies not only in the battles fought, but in the love and laughter shared along the way. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all those who were blessed to know him. May he rest in peace.
Funeral services will be private and in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave.
