Stefanaq Bendo

WORCESTER – Stefanaq Bendo, 68, of Worcester, died Saturday, August 27, 2022 at home, following an illness.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Adriana (Saraci) Bendo; a son Gjergji Bendo and his wife Krisjela of Albania, a daughter Marjola Prifti and her husband Arjan of Worcester; three brothers, Miltiadh Bendo and his wife Tatjana, Vaske Bendo and his wife Leonora, and Anesti Bendo, all of Albania; a sister Eli Kosta and her husband Taqo of Albania; four grandchildren, Stefano Bendo, Natalia Bendo, Nicholas Prifti, and Eva Prifti; many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Hava Bendo.  He was born in Korce, Albania, son of Jorgji and Kleoniqi (Gjoka) Bendo, and has lived here for 10 years. 

Stefanaq was a mechanic in sewing machine repair in Albania.  He was very dedicated to his family, a very hard worker, always very active, and loved his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He enjoyed joking with them.  He loved educating the younger generation.  He will be remembered for his singing, dancing, and giving everyone good advice for their problems. 

A funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in St. Mary's Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury St.   Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.  Calling hours will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the church.  Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave.
