PENNSBURG, PA – Shirley A. (Welcome) Alberts, 90, of Pennsburg, PA, formerly of Worcester MA, died Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Pennsburg Manor, 530 Macoby St, Pennsburg with her family present.

Her husband of 65 years, Donald E. Alberts, Sr, died in 2020.  She leaves two children, Linda Foley and her husband John of Gilbertsville, PA and William Alberts of Worcester MA; daughter-in-law Debbie Alberts of Connecticut; six grandchildren, Donald Alberts III of CT, DaNean (Alberts) Ohayon of CT, Matthew Foley of PA, Jessica Foley of MD, Gabrielle Tirrell of MA, and William Alberts of MA. She also is survived by 9 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a brother Richard Welcome and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  She was predeceased by two sons, Harry Alberts and Donald Alberts Jr. and her sister Barbara (Welcome) LaMountain. She was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of Richard and Anita (Pollier) Welcome.  She graduated from North High School in Worcester MA.

Shirley was a Data Entry Clerk at Riley Stoker in Worcester MA for many years.  She enjoyed reading, knitting, playing cards, but most of all spending time with her family.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday August 24, 2025 from 1:00 - 2:45 pm, followed by a prayer service at 2:45 at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester, MA.  Shirley will be buried alongside her husband at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon in a private ceremony.
