Rosanna (Gaulin) McNamara

MILLBURY – Rosanna (Gaulin) McNamara, 85, formerly of Millbury, died Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Jewish Healthcare Center, Worcester after a period of declining health.

Her husband of 55 years, Thomas R. McNamara, died in 2014.  She leaves a daughter, Teresa M. Charpentier of Millbury; four sons, Daniel J. McNamara and his wife Kyrenya (Nava) McNamara of Sutton, James B. McNamara and his wife Roberta (Smith) McNamara of Clinton, Frank R. McNamara and his wife Collette (Girouard) McNamara of Clifton, Virginia, and Thomas M. McNamara and his wife Sherrie (Lyonnais) McNamara of Shrewsbury; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.  She was born in Millbury, daughter of Frank J. and Eva (Mainville) Gaulin on March 25, 1939.  She is survived by her sister Eva and was predeceased by her brother Roland Gaulin, and sisters Rhea Lowe, Marion Gaulin, Jeanette Bardier-Aubin, and Doris Peladeau.

Rosanna was an anesthesia technician at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester and worked at S&D Spinning Mill in Millbury for 15 years while raising her children.  She was a member of Assumption Catholic Parish, Millbury. 

Her greatest love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she enjoyed teaching them dominoes, knitting, jacks, and playing cards.  She loved Bingo and bowling, once hitting a 606 series!   She traveled the world with great memories from Mexico, England and France.

Rose had a tight-knit group of friends for life and her family greatly appreciates the love shown by Bev and Roland Forcier and the late Judy Aubrey and Kay Duso.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 3rd at Assumption Catholic Church, 12 Waters Street in Millbury.  A calling hour will be held at the church from 10:00 – 10:45 am before the Mass.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.  Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
