HOLDEN – Ronald D. LeRoy, 80, beloved husband and father, of Holden, died Monday, December 12, 2022 at home after a long illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Susan (Moses) LeRoy of Holden, his son Scott LeRoy and his wife Teresa of Holden; two sisters, Aletha Lamson and Joyce Derenas, both of Worcester. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his sister Solange “Sally” Duquette of Worcester. He was born in Gardner, son of the late Alsvern and Anne Marie (Poulin) LeRoy.
Ron was a self-employed entrepreneur. Together with his late partner Robert Preston, he owned and operated LeRoy-Preston Copy Company in West Boylston for many years. Ron enjoyed snowmobiling, dirt bike riding, playing cards, fishing, trips to Hampton Beach, NH and cruises to Bermuda. He also had a great love for gardening, and a great love of animals.
Ron’s family would like to thank the care team at VNA Hospice and Dr. Ursula Collinson for the exceptional care they gave Ron during his illness.
Calling hours are Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 2 – 4 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester. Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life will also be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Humane Society, the Worcester Animal Rescue League (worcesterarl.org), or VNA Hospice & Palliative Care (www.vnacare.org/donors).
