Roger E. Niford, 75, of 240 Belmont St. died Friday in Hahnemann Hospital.
He worked for 25 years at the former Walker Ice Co., retiring in 1965. Mr. Niford was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Michael's on the Heights Episcopal Church and Greendale Post, American Legion.
He leaves his wife, Virginia E. (Wells) Niford; and two brothers, Russell A. Niford of Davenport, Fla., and Chester R. Niford of Irving, Texas. He was born in Worcester, son of Walter S. and Fannie N. (Carlson) Niford, and lived here most of his life.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave. The Rev. Donald F. Chamberlain will officiate. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 tonight. Members of Greendale Post, American Legion, will meet there at 7:30 tonight to conduct a ritual.
