Robert John DiBenedetto

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – Robert “Robbie” John DiBenedetto, 38, of North Miami died Saturday, August 19, 2023 in Palm Beach County Florida.

He leaves his mother, Cheryl Ann (Hughes) DiBenedetto and her partner Brian Fontaine of  Worcester; a sister, Sheena DiBenedetto Petukhov and her husband Sergei Petukhov; nieces Scarlet Petukhov and Toni Simmarano; nephew Tyler Simmarano; cousins E.J. Hughes, who he also was best friends with, Jamie Dugan, Al Dugan III, Shawn and Graeme O'Dou, Serena Murray, Jenna and Paul Jr. Cotter; aunts and uncles, Deb and Al Dugan, Donald and Linda Hughes, Diane and Paul Cotter; several great-nieces and nephews.  His cousin and best of friends, Corey Hughes, died August 27th.  He was predeceased by his father John J. DiBenedetto in 2018, his uncles Edward Hughes, Robert Hughes and aunt Judith Hughes, aunt Carol and uncle Gary Murray, cousins Justin Hughes and Jennifer Murray, Uncle Ronald Hughes, his grandparents Dorothy and Hughie Hughes, Patti Dee and John DiBenedetto.  He was born in Worcester.  He graduated from Worcester Technical High school and studied at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. 

Robbie was a great electrician; he took pride in his work. He followed his dad’s footsteps as they both were electricians.  Robbie was an outdoorsman, he loved rock-climbing and loved to camp, hike, fish and just enjoyed being outside no matter what season of the year.  He loved being with his family and friends.

A prayer service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester, followed by calling hours from 4:30 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.   Donations may be made to Suicide Prevention.
