WORCESTER – Rita A. (Hebert) Malone, 98, of Worcester, died Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Jewish Healthcare Center after a long illness.
She leaves two daughters, Rita A. Shea and her husband Gerald of Worcester, and Patricia J. Brosnan of Worcester; a son, Jay Malone of Southbridge; three grandchildren, Kelly Boyd and her husband Peter of Auburn, Colleen Zekos of Worcester, and Jason Brosnan of Boston; five great-grandchildren, Jack and Aidan Boyd, Ava, Maddox, and Norah Zekos; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, George and Gerard Hebert. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Hervé and Mary Jane (Desaulniers) Hebert. She graduated from the former Commerce High School.
Rita worked in the purchasing department at Saint Vincent Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Notre Dame Church, and later Holy Family Parish, and the Guild of Our Lady of Providence. She was a volunteer senior companion for the Age Center. She also volunteered at the Lutheran Home, St. Francis Adult Health Care and St. Vincent Hospital.
Funeral services are private and in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave.
