WORCESTER – Rita M. (Kowalcky) DeNitti, 90, of Worcester, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at home.
She was predeceased in 2017 by her loving husband Rudolph “Rudy” DeNitti to whom she was married for 63 happy years. She leaves a son, John M. DeNitti and his wife Nancy of Currituck, NC, two daughters, Annmarie DesRosiers and her husband Robert of West Springfield, and Patricia Kelley of Worcester; her loving and devoted son-in-law, Jody Brammer of Worcester; two brothers, Francis E. Kowalcky of Oxford and John A. Kowalcky of Fremont, CA; four grandchildren, Matthew B. Crowley, Katelyn Kelley, John DeNitti Jr, and Gina Church; four great-grandchildren, Liliana Kelley, Jacob and Gianna DeNitti, and Nathan Church. Her youngest daughter Karen Brammer died in November, 2018. She was also predeceased by a brother, Richard S. Kowalcky and a son-in-law, Peter Kelley. Rita was born in Worcester, daughter of Frank E. Kowalcky and Helen R. Jeffries. She graduated from South High School and attended the former Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing and Worcester State College.
Rita worked 15 years at St. Vincent Hospital. She also worked at the Sisters of Mercy Convent on Barry Road in Worcester. Rudy and Rita loved to travel and took many international trips. They made numerous trips to Italy to see Rudy's extended family. Other memorable trips were to The Holy Land, Switzerland, Ireland, Australia, Hawaii and Aruba.
A Funeral service will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at noon at Notre Dame Mausoleum, 162 Webster St, Worcester. Calling hours are private.
