AUBURN – Richard D. Stewart, 94, of Worcester, died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Life Care Center of Auburn.
He leaves 11 nieces and nephews, including Paul Stewart of Douglas and Michael Stewart of Oxford; many grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Alice Miller, Irene Stewart, and Dorothy Chisholm, and four brothers, Robert, Andrew, John, and Donald Stewart. He was born in Holden, son of A.P. Lorne and Catherine M. (Drohan) Stewart, and lived in Worcester most of his life.
Richard was a machine setup operator at Heald Machine in Worcester. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of St Peters High School and a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. He enjoyed traveling around the country and Canada to visit his many friends and relatives. He also enjoyed a cup of coffee and the company of many fellow diners at various restaurants around the city.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11am in Section St. Theresa, at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St, Worcester. Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
