WORCESTER – Richard Francis “Dick” Alarie, 80, of Worcester, died Sunday, January 16, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital.

He leaves his partner, J Alarie, three daughters, Denise, Marie and Sheryl ; two nephews, Keith Alarie of Worcester and Kristopher Alarie and his wife Karen of Worcester; his great-niece Nicole Ann Marie Alarie; his good friend and co-worker for many years, Christine Locke, his cousin Judy, and many other cousins, nieces & nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Maureen (Harrington) Alarie, and his partner Thomas Ramsdell in 1993.  He was born in Worcester, son of Francis A. Alarie and Marie E. (Lucier) Alarie-Trottier, and lived in Worcester most of his life.

Richard owned and operated 4 rest homes in Worcester, Schussler, Catherine, Catherine Windsor, and Meadowbrook Manor. He provided health care for level 4 psych patients.  He enjoyed going to the Tatnuck Post and Wexford House. He enjoyed entertaining and cookouts in the backyard at the pool.

Calling hours will be Thursday, January 20 from 10:00 – 10:30 at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave.  A prayer service will be held at 10:30 am.  Burial will be private.
