HUBBARDSTON - Raymond A. Field, “Pa" to most, passed on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026 with family by his side. He was born in New Bedford, lived most of his life in Worcester, but in the last few years he relocated to Hubbardston where he enjoyed the peace and quiet. He spent many years working in the factory for Jamesbury & Co, where he retired from.

He was predeceased by his cherished wife of 58 years, Linda (Gilbert) Field in 2023, by his mother, Annie L. Field and a brother Stevie. He was also predeceased by five of his children, Ray Jr., Debra, Clara, Norman, & Jeffrey.

He is survived by his two sisters: Stella Niles and Mildred Niles. His children: Linda Lee Field, Tracy Lee Marcoux & her husband Keith, Scott Field & his fiancée April, and Amy Nygard-Shaw-Haj & her husband Rashid. A number of grandchildren, Michael Nygard & his husband Craig, Kayla Field & her fiancée Emily; Brittany Field & her wife Beba; Jeffrey Marcoux & his wife Brittany; Marissa Marcoux; Dawn, Dylan, and Ethan Shaw; Isabella & George Nygard; Zachary, Caleb, & Coby Carr; Karlee & Cameron Girouard; & Brandy Rosen. His great-grandsons, Mason, Clyde, Carter, Cohen, Levi, and Tahan.

He was always a family man and proud of the beautiful family he had played a special role in shaping. He was always the standout in his favorite color of orange. He looked forward to the parades every year and loved going in person. He loved watching Westerns and war movies and anything black and white. He enjoyed a very particular kind of word search that he did every day and called his “book.” Ever the goofball, anyone lucky enough to know him as Pa was the receiver of a very unique birthday song that will go on living in their memories. When left on his own he could be heard singing and dancing to the music in his own head finding some fun in even the most mundane.

Raymond’s calling hours will be held Saturday January 17 from 1- 2:30 pm with a time of sharing from 2:30-3pm (please bring your favorite memory or story of Raymond to read) at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Avenue, Worcester, MA.
