We were both shocked and saddened to learn of Phil's passing. He was a kind and gentle soul with a deep love for family, friends and a dedication to his brothers and sisters in uniform. I will hold the memories of my times with him and his family in the highest regard. Our sincere condolences to Marie, Stephen, Dennis, and the entire Riordan family.
May the Peace of God that passes all understanding, be with one and all.
Sincerely, Angela and Jim Alex

Policeman's Prayer To Saint Michael

Saint Michael, Heavens glorious Commissioner of Police, who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises of all its undesirable's, look with kindly and professional eye on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, hard punches, an uncanny flair for investigation and wise judgment.

Make us the terror of burglars the friend of children and law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores, strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experience with the devil that the policeman's lot on earth is not always a happy one, but your sense of duty that so pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your Heavenly Force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of God as we have been to guard the city of men.
AMEN.

A great unimaginable loss. Gone to soon. Phil was a wonderful friend and professional Brother Police Officer. We graduated together from the Worcester Police Academy in 1976. To Phil's family, please except my deepest heartfelt sympathy and condolences, may he RIP.

We all pray for strength. Uncle Phil you will be sorely missed at the family cookouts. Talking about all things from New England Sports to Politics. The journey was too short for a most caring man. God Speed!
