MILLBURY - Paul A. Turgeon Jr, 80, formerly of Millbury, died Sunday January 4, 2026 at St Francis Home, Worcester after a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends.
He leaves a sister, Denise A. Kilfoil of Cary, NC, a brother, Bernard J. Turgeon of Little Rock, AR, his niece Jessica Efron and his nephews Terrence and Brendan Kilfoil and their families. He also leaves his friends who were like family: Sean, Meghan, Emma and Sofia Bohdiewicz of Auburn. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Barry M. Kilfoil DDS. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Paul A. Turgeon Sr and Lora E. (Thibeault) Turgeon. He graduated from Assumption Prep and then Assumption College in1963 and was a graduate of New England Institute of Anatomy, Sanitary Science, Embalming and Funeral Directing where he was elected to the Sigma Mu Sigma Honor Society.
Paul was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star, serving in graves registration. He was a professor and dean at the former New England Institute in Boston for several years. He was a licensed embalmer and funeral director, serving with his father at their funeral homes in the Millbury and Northbridge communities for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Parish, Millbury.
He enjoyed reading, teaching and was proud of his French heritage.
His funeral will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of Loreto Parish, 37 Massasoit Rd, Worcester. He will then be buried beside his parents in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
