Pamela Shaylor Obituary

WORCESTER – Pamela Elaine (Allen) Shaylor, 69, of Worcester, died Monday, June 28, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital after an illness surrounded by family. 

She leaves her husband of 46 years, Roger E. Shaylor; a son, Michael M. Shaylor and his wife Tara of Worcester; a daughter, Heather L. Caplette and her husband Keith of East Brookfield; four grandchildren, Michael P. Shaylor, Gavin L. Caplette and Ruby M. Caplette.  Pamela was predeceased by her granddaughter, Hailey A. Shaylor and her brother David Allen and his wife Betty Jane Allen. Pamela and Roger want to especially thank their special aide Brianda.   She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John J. and Dorothy E. (Kaestner) Allen.  She attended South High and Worcester Girls Trade School. 

Pamela was an insurance clerk at MetLife.  She loved flowers, birds and nature.  She was a very sociable person and was known as “the Mayor of Mower Street”.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. John’s Cemetery, section Pieta.  The family will gather at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, at 10:00 am, leaving in procession to St. John’s at 10:30.  Calling hours are Thursday, July 1 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101A First Ave, Waltham, MA 02451 (nationalmssociety.org).
