Nancy Ewing Nye, 91, of Westborough and Worcester, died on October 23, 2022.
Born in 1931 to Gladys and Frank Ewing, Nancy grew up in Petersham, MA. She attended the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY and graduated from Smith College in 1952. Life brought her to the states of New York, Connecticut, Minnesota and Georgia, yet she always longed to return to Massachusetts. Nancy considered Westborough her true home.
After raising her children, she worked as a hardware store manager, followed by many years as a buyer for the Putnam Card and Gift Stores. She was especially fond of reading, gardens, good food, Sea Street beach in East Dennis, and sharing her dry wit.
Nancy leaves four children and their partners, Julia Nye (Kim Peters) of New Durham, NH; Steve Nye (Noah Marston) of Groton, CT; Ruth Nye (Peter Grose) of Ellington, CT, and Gordon Nye (Kathleen McGillivray) of Los Angeles; five grandchildren, Tim Grose (Lydia Dworetzsky), Emily Grose (Lindsey Saunders), Molly, Lulu, and Poppy Nye, and three great-grandchildren, Emmett and Augusta Grose, and Oliver Saunders.
Nancy was predeceased by her siblings, Jean Ralls, Scott Ewing, Frank Ewing and Martha McElman.
The family is especially grateful for the care and laughter shared by the residents and staff of the Eisenberg Assisted Living Residence, the JHC Hospice staff, and Caregivers with a Heart, especially Margaret Mutahi and Margaret Ngnanju.
