SHREWSBURY - Michael John Russell, 70, of Oak St Shrewsbury, died Friday, September 1, 2023 early evening, in Tewksbury Hospital.

He leaves his mother Margaret Giordano of Medway, two brothers, Edward Russell of Atascadero, CA and Paul Russell of Wiscasset, Maine, a sister, Susan Russell of Worcester, relatives, friends and loved ones.  He was born in Worcester, son of Michael J. Russell and Margaret M. (Albrizio) Giordano.  He graduated from Shrewsbury High School.

Michael worked at Price Chopper in Shrewsbury. He enjoyed sports, hanging at the gym, TV, and Star Trek, and lived to socialize.  Michael’s incredible memory astonished us in his ability to recall details from years gone by.  His keen knack for injecting a Three Stooges verse at just the right time in a group setting would draw gut-busting laughter. Michael had an unwavering love of TV, as evidenced by his uncanny naming of shows, actors, and detailed stories of them. We’ll miss you, Michael.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Cemetery, 22 Boylston St, Shrewsbury, section L85.  Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave Worcester.
