Michael Paul Joseph Powers

WORCESTER – Michael Paul Joseph Powers, died Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at UMass Memorial – University Campus after a brief illness.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Paul Joseph Powers, 27, a beloved son, brother, and friend. Michael was born in Worcester, the beloved son of Michael Paul Powers and Alicia Lea (Goodell) Powers. He leaves his parents, his sister, Bailey Powers and her wife Yoselyn Rozario Parez of Worcester, his grandfather, Francis Leo Daigneault of Worcester, and his grandmothers, Virginia Goodell of Worcester, and Christine Berry of Marshfield, as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Stephen Michael Powers.

He graduated from Leicester High School and earned a Certificate in Security and Protective Services from Job Corps in Grafton. He enjoyed working in Security and was employed as a Security Officer for Central Security in Worcester.

Michael’s love for his family was unwavering and he valued every moment spent with them. He was an avid Patriots fan, who also enjoyed Brazilian Jujitsu, and Star Wars. Animals held a special place in Michael’s heart, and his compassion extended to his two recently rescued Shih Tzu’s, Meesa and Addie.

Michael will be remembered for his infectious smile and unwavering loyalty. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort to those who knew and loved him.

A Funeral service will be held for close friends and family members on Tuesday January 16, 2024 from 2-4 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League.
