WORCESTER - Our beloved mother, Merrilyn Ingalls Carr Bergier 81, of Worcester, MA, passed away Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025 at UMass Memorial – University Campus.


She was born Jun 27, 1944 in Fall River, Massachusetts, a daughter of Horace Tilghman Ingalls from Little Falls, NJ, and Virginia Elizabeth Ide of Taunton, MA.  Her adoptive parents were James I. Carr from Hancock, NH and Catherine Carothers, from Cutler, Ohio.


She leaves a son, Christopher T. Bergier and his wife Rosy A. Bergier of Worcester, a daughter, Tanja L. Bergier of Maryland; six grandchildren, Breanna Hunter, Anthony Thomas, Celina Thomas, Valenia Bergier, Yariana Bergier & Liam Bergier; a great-grandchild Andre Brooks Jr.; two sisters, Cindy Ingalls of Mississippi and Judith Fisher Ingalls of Illinois, a brother Dr. Andrew C. Carr of California ; a nephew and three nieces.  She was predeceased by her brothers Norman Ingalls and Dr. James Irvin Carr Jr. .


Merrilyn was the owner of a health food store in Leominster in the early 1970’s.   She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She loved nature walks, watching childhood development shows, playing the violin and all classical music.


A Life Celebration will be held Sunday October 19, 2025 from 9:45am-1 pm at the Cathedral of the Pines 10 Hale Hill Rd Rindge, NH 03461.
