WORCESTER – Melissa Ann Callaghan, 49, of Worcester, died Sunday, September 8, 2024 at UMass Memorial – University Campus after an illness.

She leaves her children, Olivia Callaghan of Worcester, Nathan Callaghan of Worcester, Adria Vosburgh of Worcester, Micheal Duhaime of Worcester, and Bronx Bates of Rhode Island; her mother, Priscilla Hughes of Worcester; her brothers and sisters Melinda Callaghan of Worcester, Scott Callaghan and his wife Tiara of New Haven, Indiana, Theresa Perry and her husband D'Wight of Webster, George Hughes of Florida, Jeremy Hughes of Worcester, and Joshua Hughes of Worcester; her granddaughter RaeLyn; 13 nieces and nephews, and countless cousins.  She was predeceased by her daughter Sophia Vosburgh, her grandson Malik John, Jr., her grandmother Priscilla LaMonda, grandfather Robert LaMonda, aunt Bonnie Hughes, cousin Stephen Hughes, and stepfather Joseph Hughes.   She was born in Worcester, daughter of George and Priscilla (Lamonda) Hughes

Melissa’s underlying illnesses made it difficult for her to leave the house, so she was a private person who preferred to spend time at home with her immediate family.  She enjoyed watching reality TV to relax.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
