WORCESTER - Mark A. Leonard, 65, died unexpectedly at home January 6, 2022 after a long illness.
Mark was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late E. Doris (Skrivars) Leonard and Ralph A. Leonard of Rochdale, and attended local schools. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Leicester Junior College, and received a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies from Barrington College in Rhode Island, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Mark was selected by the Barrington faculty as “The Outstanding Student in his Major.”
Mark was an avid reader and musician. In his youth, he was involved in Christian outreach ministry and performed in the traveling musical play “The TEAM,” having composed much of the music used. He played in local bands.
Later, Mark became a skilled ACE certified auto, truck, and tractor mechanic and worked at Klem Tractor, Inc, New England Truck Stop, and Penske Leasing among others. Mark often made emergency road service calls in all kinds of weather.
Mark was very helpful to his prematurely widowed mother throughout her life
Mark was married to Lynda (Swett) Leonard for 18 years, and leaves behind three sons, Joshua and wife Heather Flynn Leonard, Ian and husband Dan Boyce-Leonard, and Eric Leonard. His sons were very supportive of him these last years, and he had great love and appreciation for them. He also leaves behind a brother, Thomas and wife Jean (Anderson) Leonard of New York, and a sister, Christina (Leonard) Schoenberg and husband Andrew of Maine, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 5 to 6:30 pm, with a brief service at 6:30 pm.
