WORCESTER – Luis A. Pacheco Caraballo, 81, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at UMass Memorial, University Campus.


He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Guillermina Echevarria Pacheco; two sons, William Pacheco of New Bedford, and Wilson Pacheco and his wife, Christina, of Worcester; and two daughters, Milagros Thorne and her husband, Jeremy, of Worcester, and Katherine Pacheco and her husband, Raul, of Rutland.


He is also survived by three brothers, Efrain Pacheco and his wife, Yolanda, of New Jersey; Jose Pacheco of Florida; and William Pacheco of Puerto Rico; twelve grandchildren, William, Cynthia, Edwin, and Alexis Pacheco, Carymil and Milagros Martinez, Arleen Lugo, Wilson, Gianna, and Abel Ivan Pacheco, and Guillermina and Luis Caraballo; as well as many nieces and nephews.


He was predeceased by his daughter, Erika Pacheco, and five brothers: Jesus, Gilberto, Juan, Justo, and Celso Pacheco.


Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the son of Thomas Pacheco and Guillermina Caraballo, Luis had lived in Worcester since 1979.


Luis was an auto mechanic and the proud owner of El Pino Auto Garage on Franklin Street in Worcester. He enjoyed motorcycles, sports cars, and playing dominoes. He loved to dance and was known for his great sense of humor. Above all, he cherished his family and valued every moment spent with them. Luis was a generous man who always helped others whenever he could. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Avenue, Worcester, followed by burial at Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
