MALDEN – Joseph “Corky” Pires, 63, of Malden, died Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at home.  Joe lived in Bristol, Rhode Island most of his life. 

He leaves two daughters, Jessica Pires Wyandt and her husband Paul Wyandt of Largo, FL, and Vanessa Pires of Bristol, RI; three brothers, Louis J. Pires Jr. and Robert Pires both of Bristol, RI, John Pires of Rehoboth, MA, and his sister, Kim Pires Santos of Bristol, RI; four grandchildren Paul, Dylan, Nadia, and Mikey;  several nieces and nephews. He was born in Fall River, son of the late Louis J. Pires Sr. and Charlotte (Josephs) Pires. 

Joseph enjoyed the Steelers football team and was a proud fan. He enjoyed listening to the band Kiss, always, sitting outside and just enjoying music with anyone. One of his favorite holidays was the 4th of July in Bristol, while spending time with family and friends.  He enjoyed backyard camping with his nephew Mikey in the summer.  Joe was also an expert puzzle maker.

Funeral services are private and in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
