Jose C. Roldan Obituary

SHREWSBURY – José C. Roldan, 73, of Shrewsbury, died Sunday, July 19, 2026 at UMass Memorial, University Campus.


He leaves his wife, Marisol (Perez Rios) Roldan, two sons, José Roldan III of Texas and Reynaldo Valdez of Fitchburg; two adopted sons, Chino Guzman and Anthony Guzman; three sisters, Lucy Roldan of Florida, Martha Roldan of Worcester, and Judy Roldan of Puerto Rico; four grandchildren, José and Rafa Roldan, Kymani and Liana Valdez; many nieces and nephews, especially Jeannette Cruz of Worcester, Lysandra McLean of Maine, Michelle Cruz of Worcester and Lymary Munoz of Florida.  He also left behind one cousin that was close as a sister to him, Evelyn DeGuzman-Roldan; also his nephew and niece,  Jonathan Sein and Odalis Sein.  He was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of José Roldan Velez and Luz Maria Cubero.


José was an industrial worker at National Envelope for many years.  He had a lot of respect and honor for family.  He would do anything for his family.  He was incredibly handy; there was no project he couldn’t figure out for anyone.  He always supported his family in any way he could.


A funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 27 at 11:00 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 38 High St, Worcester.  Calling hours are Sunday, July 26 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.  Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster St, Worcester.
