WORCESTER – Josè Antonio Aviles Perez, 74, a long-time resident of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

Josè is survived by his wife, Luz Perez, his four children, Lisa Fox and her husband, Quentin, Daisy Aviles, Ariel Perez and his wife, Jasmin, Giselle Lopez and her husband, Omar and Heidi Quiñones; thirteen grandchildren, Alejandra, Ariel, Javier, Alisha, Jeritzell, Omar Jr, Ryan, Julissa, Giomaris, Ezekiel, Leilani, Sal, and Jaxon.; one great grandson, Omari; sisters, Ana Perez of Worcester, Lucy Valentine of New York, Aida Muñiz of Worcester, Angelina Morales of New York, Nereida Gonzalez of New York, Nelida Aviles of Worcester, Daisy Perez of Spencer; brothers, Jose A. Aviles of Moca, PR, Ceferino Aviles of NY, Victor Aviles of Iowa, Geraldo Aviles of Fitchburg, Elvin Aviles of Moca, PR, Anibal Aviles of New Jersey, Heriberto Aviles of New York, and was predeceased by his twin brother Josè Luis Aviles.  He leaves behind numerous in-laws and generations of nieces and nephews and many extended family members.  Josè was born in Moca, Puerto Rico to Andres Aviles and Fundadora Perez, both deceased.

Josè was a self-employed commercial truck driver.  He enjoyed playing dominoes, tinkering with his truck and cars, and most of all spending time with his family, whom he cherished.

The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Joan of Arc Parish, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester.  Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester.  Calling hours are Monday January 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester, MA.
