WORCESTER – Jorge A. Soto, 56, of Worcester, died Friday, September 6, 2024 at home.

Jorge Alberto Soto was born on June 30, 1968 in Guatemala.  He lived with his grandmother, affectionately known as Mama Chus, as well as some cousins (Gloria, Rudy, and Claudia) in Tiquisate, Guatemala until 1982.  At the age of 13 Jorge moved to Westborough, MA where he attended and graduated from Westborough High School in 1989. He graduated from Quinsigamond Community College and attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

In 1999 Jorge moved to Myrtle Beach, SC.  Since then, he made his home in both South Carolina and Massachusetts.  He loved working with his hands, especially cooking and being a mechanic.  Jorge also loved going to the movies, going out to eat, classic cars and spoiling his mom.  He was a big fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. 

He is survived by his mother, Gloria Riley; his sons Alexander Soto and Andrew Soto - who he loved immensely; two granddaughters Adaline Soto and Bentlee Soto; his brothers, Percy Riley and Harry Riley; his sisters, Lesley Riley and Olga (Riley) Mason, his brother-in-law Steve Mason; his aunt, Yolanda, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Calling hours will be held Thursday September 12, 2024 from 6-8 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester. Burial will be private.
