WORCESTER - Joan E. (Campbell) Banach, 89, formerly of Worcester, died Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with her family by her side.
Her husband, Al Banach, who was the true love of her life, passed away in 1984. Joan leaves her two daughters, Bonnie Clark and her husband Douglas of Lenexa, Kansas, Jen Antinovitch and her husband Ray of Worcester and her son, Ted Banach and his wife Renata of Worcester. She also leaves her beloved sister, Sara Murphy and her husband Phil Murphy of Fort Collins, Colorado as well as eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Joan was born in Westfield, MA, the daughter of Arthur and Marian (Agan) Campbell.
Joan was the owner of AAA Word Connection as well as a breeder of AKC Grand Champion Golden Retrievers and Champion Registered British Shorthair cats. She also spent many hours volunteering for Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, the Girl Scouts and Hadwen Park Church.
Joan enjoyed many different hobbies over the years including sewing, knitting, gardening, vacationing in Maine, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known by everyone for her wonderful sense of fashion and her “take charge” attitude.
Known as “Mom” to Jen & Ray, “Moj” to Ted, Renata, Bonnie & Doug, “Granny” to Logan, Hunter, Mia & Marcel, and “Essie” to Serena, Drake, Thea & Galen, her strength, love and sense of humour will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Christopher House’s Dementia Care Unit for creating a safe and comfortable home for her last few years. She was surrounded with caring and respect by the staff and volunteers as she navigated life with Alzheimer's.
Funeral services will be private and in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
