Jason Leo Casey

SPENCER - Jason Leo Casey, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at age 46.  He was larger than life itself.  The Man, The Myth, A legend!  No one would call him Jason.  It was Jay Casey or simply Jay.  He was born in Ware, MA and graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer, where he lived for a large part of his life. 

He loved attending concerts & music festivals. He collected t-shirts from each one of them.  Tie dyes and tank tops were his favorite.  Jay was known to wear a bandana or a backwards hat almost everywhere he went.  

He was most at peace when he was out in nature.  Jay would often go to a secret place in the mountains near the family cabin.  He would surround himself with his friends or his girlfriend Tara and their son Jamison, whom he adored.  Enjoying time at the campfire, or next to the river nearby. Gently tossing pebbles making ripples in still water.

Jay was fond of driving, whether for work or to visit friends.  He enjoyed the peaceful drive no matter how far.  He also was an avid sports fan.  Always cheering on the home team with a passion. Go Bruins!!

His father was William Kinner, and is predeceased by his mother Sue Casey, a strong woman who raised him with the help of his grandmother, Theresa (Lacombe) Casey and his loving aunts, LuAnn Casey McKeon, and Betty Ann Casey.  He will be forever loved and missed by his Auntie Connie, her husband Jim, Jay’s cousins, John and Emily McKeon, Josh and Caitlin (McKeon) Staples, along with many other family members that have shared good times with him.

Jay Casey had a large circle of friends, all of whom have fantastic stories of adventure with him.  He was a very loving & passionate man. He would move mountains to help when someone needed him.  Everyone who knew him adored him and would agree that he wasn’t only a friend he was family. 

Immediate services will be private and in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.  A community gathering will be planned at a later date.
