Janulla (Memo) Minka

WORCESTER – Janulla (Memo) Minka, 61, of Worcester, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at UMass Memorial – University Campus.

She leaves her husband of 35 years, Gjergji Minka, a son, Stavro Minka of Worcester, a daughter, Krisanthi Minka of Worcester, her mother, Olga Memo of Albania, three brothers, Niko and LLambi Memo of Albania and Llazi Memo of Greece, three sisters, Renata Burda and Marika Minka of Albania and Rudina Memo of Greece; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her father, Ligor Memo.  She was born in Treske, Korce, Albania, daughter of Ligor and Olga (Peshqini) Memo, and has lived here in Worcester since 2002.

Janulla will be remembered by her incredibly hardworking nature, her warm smile, and her need to always help those around her.  She was the shoulder for everyone to lean on.  A devoted mother to not only her kids but also to those that leaned on her during hard times.  She was selfless and always put others before herself no matter the circumstance.  Her funny sense of humor would light up the whole room. Forever remembered by her contagious smile and laughter. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. 

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church,535 Salisbury St, with a calling hour in the church from 10:00 - 11:00 am.  Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.   Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church,535 Salisbury St, Worcester, MA 01609.
