WORCESTER – Ivette Acevedo Martinez, 63, of Worcester, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at home.

She leaves five children, Yarelis Imeri of Florida, Javier Torres of Puerto Rico, Ivelisse Perez of Puerto Rico, Tania Torres of Worcester, and Reinaldo Torres of Kansas. She was a great grandma to her grandchildren: Jose A. Martinez, Angel Maldonado, Gabriel Torres, Johniel Torres, Israel Torres, Tanya Lisbeth Perez, Reniel Torres, Keniel Espola, Shany Torres, Mariangelyz Serrano, Marianyelis Pérez, Jaleb Torres, Keriangelyz Serrano, and Jordaniel Torres. She also leaves her siblings Nora G Acevedo, Luis Acevedo and Marylin Acevedo, nieces and nephews and her former husband, Reinaldo Torres of Kanses. She was born in Vieques, Puerto Rico, daughter of Luis Acevedo and Mariana Martinez. She has lived in Worcester for about 14 years.

Ivette enjoyed art, cooking (she was a chef in Puerto Rico for 10 years), fishing, crafts, and painting. She loved the beach, sunsets and flowers. She was a great gardener.

Funeral services are private and in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave.
