WORCESTER – Isabel Jimenez, 90, of Worcester, formerly of New York, died Sunday, June 16, 2024 at UMass Memorial – Memorial Campus.

Her husband, Rogelio Rosario Pagan, died in 1998.   She leaves three children, Rogelio Rosario and his wife Irene Rosario of New York City, Rosemary Rosario of Worcester, and Jorge Luis Rosario of Worcester; a grandson, Antonio D. Velazquez and his spouse Melissa Gregoire of Worcester; and a great-grandson, Antonio S. Velazquez. Isabel also leaves many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Steven Andrew Rosario, and three sisters, Margarita Font, Norma Tirado, and Ana Quinonez.  She was born in Vieques, Puerto Rico, daughter of Carmelo Jimenez and Carmen Fontanez.

Isabel was a medical clerk at Lincoln Hospital in New York City from 1978 until her retirement in 2012. 

For Isabel, the love of family was most important. She struggled with her illnesses, refusing to leave her loved ones’ side.  She made numerous trips to New York City to visit her sisters, nieces and nephews.  She also made numerous trips to Puerto Rico to visit her sister and other relatives living there.  Another joy in her life was planting flowers and feeding birds in her gardens.

Calling hours will be held from 10:00 -11:30 am followed by a Funeral service at 11:30 am at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester on Thursday, June 20, 2024.  Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.  A Memorial Service will be planned for mid-August in Puerto Rico for relatives and friends living there.
