WORCESTER – Helen Ortiz Ramos Blom, 62, of Worcester, died Friday, January 31, 2025 at UMass Memorial – University Campus.

She leaves her husband of 28 years, Douglas W. Blom, a son, Jerry Casillas of Worcester, a daughter, Arlin Casillas and her husband Gilberto Victoriano of Worcester, three brothers, Santiago Ortiz, Giovani Pedroza and Maria, and Benito Escobar, all of Worcester; a sister, Yaimari Massa and Angel of Worcester; ten grandchildren, Adelis, Anthony, Nasheily, Helen, René, Reniel, Arielis, Adriana, Myah, and Arian; two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Elyzon; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son René Casillas.  She was born in Loiza, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Santiago Ortiz and Elizabeth Ramos.

Helen enjoyed spending time with her family. 

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester, followed by burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.  Calling hours are Monday, February 10 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
