WORCESTER - Helen M. (Daignault) Monfils, 82, of Anna Maria Rest Home, 1398 Main St., died yesterday in The Medical Center of Central Massachusetts - Hahnemann after an illness.
Her husband, George A. Monfils, died in 1944. She leaves a son, Richard A. Monfils of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Shirley A. Frotten of Worcester; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Maurice J. and Josephine (Bellerose) Daignault, and lived here all her life. She graduated from the former Commerce High School.
Mrs. Monfils was a clerk at the former Dewey Street Five & 10 for 15 years, retiring in 1965.
The funeral will be held Wednesday from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7 Oak St., Worcester, 01609.
