WORCESTER – Gilberto Antonio Valdez, 55, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at UMass Memorial – University Campus.
He leaves a son, Adrian Valdez of Worcester; his former wife, Sandrine Valdez of France. He was born in Panama City, Panama, son of Guillermo and Fredelinda (Segura) Valdez, and has lived here for over 30 years.
Gilberto worked in packaging for Nypro in Clinton. He was a man that loved life, music, dancing, movies, he was interested in arts. He didn't have that much education but he was very intelligent, he knew how to make plans. Life was not easy for him, he had to escape his country because of dictatorship. He came to America because he believed in the values of United States. Even though he had to escape his country he still loved it.
Gilberto was very sociable, but at the same time he would be very careful. He was very generous, sacrificed his life for his sister to pay for her books and studies. He had a very good heart. He was interested in evolving technologies. Even with his sickness he was full of life and wanted to have fun. He was very funny and had a lot of love to give and to receive. He was a really good man. He was very over-protective of the ones he loved because he cared so much. He was so proud of his son. The presence of his son made him determined to get better (health-wise). He was a very religious and spiritual man, he believed in God. He had a lot of charisma.
He will always be in our minds and in our hearts. Adrian and Sandrine
