SHREWSBURY - Gertrude C. (Bolduc) Jacques, 76, of 4 Rawson Place died Monday in her home after an illness.

Her husband, Dr. Louis U. Jacques, a Worcester dentist, died in 1982.  She leaves two sons, Louis P. Jacques of Worcester and Robert P. Jacques of Shrewsbury; two daughters, Sister Michele M. Jacques of the Sisters of St. Anne of Wayland, and Dr. Elise A. Jacques of Paxton; a brother, Dr. Robert A. Bolduc of Worcester; a sister, Pierrette B. Bourke of Springfield, and two grandsons.  She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Philippe H. and Albertine (Martin) Bolduc, and lived in Boylston and Worcester before moving to Shrewsbury four years ago.

Mrs. Jacques was director of guidance and a guidance counselor at Holy Name High School 18 years, retiring in 1981.  She graduated from North High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Worcester State College. After her graduation, she was a staff reporter for The Evening Gazette seven years. She received her master's degree in guidance from Worcester State College.  She was a member of the Advisory Board of Anna Maria College in Paxton.

Mrs. Jacques was a member and past president of Cercle Jeanne Mance, a member of Federation Franco-Americaine, and served as a coordinator of several contests of excellence in the French language for New England high school and college students.  She was a member of Notre Dame parish, a past president of the Diocesan League of Catholic Women and of the Catholic Women's Club. She also served as organizer and president of the Worcester Chapter, National Council of Catholic Women, and a member of the Worcester County Dental Society Auxiliary.

The funeral will be held tomorrow from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave., Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame Church, 5 Salem Square, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.  Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Members of Cercle Jeanne Mance will meet there at 3 p.m. today for a prayer service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Anne, 17 Forty Acres Drive, Wayland, Mass., 01778, Anna Maria College, Sunset Lane, Paxton, Mass., 01612, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
