WORCESTER – George G. Marr, Jr, 78, of Worcester, died Sunday, March12, 2023 at UMass Memorial, University Campus after an illness.
His wife of 38 years, Nancy M. (Wagher) Marr, died in 2019. He leaves four sons, John Feddo of Auburn, George, Paul, and David Marr, all of Worcester; two daughters, Cheryl Feddo and Stephanie Marr, both of Worcester; a brother, Paul Marr of Grafton; four grandchildren, Kristina, Briana, Veronica, and Cassandra, and four great-granddaughters, Annalycia, Genesis, Emeli, and Valentina, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Marr in 1969. He was born in Worcester, son of George G. Sr and Helen J. (Strzelecki) Marr.
George was a tool cutter / grinder at Worcester Controls. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was involved with the German Airlift during the Berlin Crisis in the early 1960’s.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 10 am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St, Worcester. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday, March 17 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Veterans Inc, 69 Grove St, Worcester, MA 01605.
