WORCESTER – Ferat Kroi, 88, of Worcester, died Friday, April 17, 2026 at UMass Memorial – Lake Ave, surrounded by his family.
His wife of 54 years, Shpresa Kroi, died in 2018. He leaves a son, Ermal Kroi and his wife Arta of Worcester; three grandchildren, Mirgen and Angela Kroi of Worcester and Erin Kroi of Vancouver, Canada; his siblings, Fato Murraj of Tirana, Albania and Liri Milaqi of San Diego, California; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Albano Kroi and two older brothers, Besnik and Luan Kroi. He was born in Tirana, Albania, son of Hamit and Lubica (Vasic) Kroi and has lived here for the past 20 years.
Ferat was a transportation director for a transportation company in Albania for many years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, reading, music, watching sports, and he was an avid player of chess and dominoes. Ferat was passionate about learning new languages and adapting to new cultures.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, April 23 at Hope Cemetery, Worcester, with a procession leaving at 11:00 am from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 22 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
