Ethel M. (Rondeau) Broadard

WORCESTER – Ethel M. (Rondeau) Broadard, 83, of Worcester, died Monday, November 29, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family. 

Ethel was predeceased by the love of her life, Chester Broadard, whom she married on January 18, 1956.   She leaves four sons, Steven Broadard of Brimfield, John Broadard, James Broadard and his wife Marge, and Chester Broadard and his wife Georgeanna, all of Worcester; two daughters, Jennifer Kiser and her husband Duron of Worcester, Annamarie Klemm and her husband Michael of North Carolina. Her brothers, Wilfred Rondeau of Worcester and Chester Rondeau of Oxford; her sisters, Sheila Hanlon of Leicester, Anna Mary Walley of Worcester, Georgia Foskett of California, Dianne Rondeau of Leominster,  Doris Lambert of Worcester and Debra Burnett of Worcester.  She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son David Broadard and her daughter, Theresa Premo, two brothers, Joseph and Richard Rondeau, and  her two sisters, Emily Nancy Carol Clemmons and Elizabeth Leveille.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Lamothe) Rondeau. 

Ethel was a packer at L & J of New England Electrical Plating for many years.  She will be missed for her outspoken, witty self and stubborn personality and for the strong independent woman she was.  She loved lobster and you couldn’t take away her cigarettes or beer.  She was a strong presence in the lives of not only her family, but for many of her grandchildren’s friends who also called her Gram.  

Funeral services are private and in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.  Private burial will be in Hope Cemetery.  Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City OK 73123.
