Edgar J. Comeau, 80, formerly of 50 Murray Ave., died yesterday in Park Terrace Nursing Home, 39 Queen St.
His wife, Florence (Lemaire) Comeau, died many years ago. He leaves three brothers, Edward Comeau of Millbury, Raymond Comeau of Tampa, Fla., and Wilfred J. Comeau of Spencer; four sisters, Rose Collette and Edna Dente, both of Worcester, Evelyn Silvestri and Lucille Fisher, both of Oxford; and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Adelard and Mary (Boudreau) Comeau, and lived here all his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Comeau was a weaver for 38 years at the former M.J. Whittall Associates Inc., retiring in 1974. He was a member of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church and Worcester Lodge of Elks. He was a member of Chapter 4, Disabled American Veterans and Main South Post, American Legion. He was past commander of the former legion Post 445.
The funeral will be held Monday from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, 5 Salem Square. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Renovation Fund of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, 5 Whitman Road, Worcester, 01609.
