Obituary

WORCESTER – Donald F. Brueck Jr, 73, of Worcester, died Saturday, July 17, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Lora T. (Racicot) Brueck; a daughter, Sarah Brueck Williams and her husband Michael of Charlton; a grandson, Ethan Stallings of Charlton.  He was predeceased by a sister, Ellen Brueck.  He was born in Springfield, son of the late Donald F. Sr and Sarah (Finik) Brueck.

Donald graduated from Springfield Technical High School and served in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Knox, KY and Fort Greeley, AK.  After military service, he attended Lowell Technological Institute and then worked as a sales representative for Pepperidge Farm Bakery Products. He later changed careers, founding his dream business, Fine Detail Associates, a finish carpentry company specializing in custom cabinets, kitchens, and panelled libraries.  After he retired for health reasons, he continued to use his home improvement skills around the house, renovating two Worcester craftsman era homes. Don loved gardening and from his small yard proudly supplied neighbors with tomatoes and a wide range of summer vegetables.  Don was friendly and gregarious and would learn a stranger’s life story in minutes.  He loved traveling to New Orleans and attending live music venues.
