Denise Firmin Obituary

WORCESTER – Denise C. (Beliveau) Firmin, 70, of Worcester, died suddenly Saturday, September 10, 2022 at UMass Memorial – University Campus.

Her husband, Alvin L. Firmin, died in 2018.  She leaves her children, Jefferson and Alissa Case of Paxton, Robert and Megan Case of Holden, Stephanie and Rafael Albino of Auburn, her brother Ronald and his wife Tammy Beliveau; 11 grandchildren, Cody, Casey, Brendan, Nicholas, Gabrielle, Rafael, Brady, Haley, Ethan, Gianni, Matthew; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Ariella, Alena, Leanna and one on the way, nieces and nephews; several cousins, especially Marie Cannon and Mark Beford, with whom she enjoyed many phone calls and visits.  She also leaves numerous friends and many PCA'S that took great care for her at home, and the staff at Knollwood Nursing Center.  We thank you all.  She was also predeceased by her first husband, Robert Case, her parents Herve and Madeleine (Beford) Beliveau, her daughter Lee-Ann Malloy, her granddaughter Marisa Case, and her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Paul Bovenzi.  She was born in Worcester and graduated from Holy Name High School, Worcester Technical Institute, and Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing.

Denise was a registered nurse for many years. She worked as director of nurses at Shrewsbury, Salisbury Nursing Home, and Autumn Village and did hospice nursing at Allegiance.  She was president of Maranville Little League in Worcester.  She had a love for Foxwoods and playing blackjack.  She loved the Patriots and Red Sox, watching the Little League World Series, and in her younger days she was an avid participant in country line dancing. 

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service to be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Hope Cemetery, Worcester, section 102.  There are no calling hours.  Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave.  Donations may be made to the American Stroke Foundation, 6405 Metcalf Avenue, Suite 214, Overland Park, KS 66202 (https://americanstroke.org).
