HOLDEN – David J. Collins, 47, of Holden, MA, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 8, 2021.
He leaves his wife, Amy Habeshian Collins, his father, Ralph Collins of North Carolina, two daughters, Rachel and Sarah of Florida; his siblings, Gail Ansel and her husband David of California, Carol Collins Leslie and her husband Brian of FL and MA, Robert Collins of Colorado, and Janet Goddard of Rutland, MA; a brother-in-law, Harry Minehart of Lexington, MA; his beloved granddaughter Addison, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Cohen and a brother, Kenneth Collins.
David was a custom craftsman who took pride in his accomplishments. He was an avid Patriots and Bruins fan and enjoyed being in the stadiums as much as he could. He was a member of the Masons and Shriners, and was an avid listener of music, particularly the Grateful Dead. He especially enjoyed attending live music events with his wife Amy. His dogs and riding his motorcycle bought him much joy. He spent many hours reading, studying history, and watching both the Military and History channels. He was mostly interested in the history of World War II. He loved the ocean and always enjoyed grilling and entertaining with his friends and family.
He also loved mentoring, teaching, and helping people, especially the children at the Shriners Hospital. He had a zest for life, telling jokes and being the life of the party. He will be greatly missed.
