Cora B. (Valley) Pratte, 88, of the Belmont Home, 255 Belmont St., formerly of 39 First St., died yesterday in City Hospital.

Her husband, Omer J. Pratte, died in 1967.  She leaves two sons, Joseph H. Pratte of Cherry Valley and George O. Pratte of Monterey, Calif.; two daughters, Jeannette B.M. Pratte and Laura A.M. Desharnais, both of Worcester; a brother, Philip Valley in California; two sisters, Agnes Durkee of Spencer and Elizabeth Dowd of Palmer; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.  She was born in East Brookfield, daughter of George and Emelia (Masicotte) Valley, and lived here most of her life.

She was a stitcher for many years at several clothing companies in the Worcester area before she retired.  Mrs. Pratte was a member of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church and the Salvation Army Senior Citizens Group.

The funeral will be held Thursday from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, 5 Salem Square. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.  The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Alzheimer's Association, 1 Kendall Square, Building 600, Cambridge, 02139, or the Salvation Army, 630 Main St., Worcester, 01608.
