WORCESTER – Carmen Lopez, 57, of Worcester, died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at UMass Memorial – University Campus from complications of COVID-19.
She leaves her mother, Olivia Figueroa of Worcester; her son, Lionel Bermudez Jr; her granddaughter, Anayahlys M Bermudez; her siblings Carmen D Quesada, Luz Lopez, and Lauro Lopez, all of Worcester, Cristobal Marrero of Connecticut, Wanda Marrero of Puerto Rico, and Marilyn Perez of Worcester. She also leaves aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews, cousins and many friends. She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. She was predeceased by her father, Herminio Lopez.
Carmen worked in patient registration at UMass Memorial. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She had a vivacious personality and made friends easily because of her kindhearted and compassionate nature. She had a beautiful smile.
Carmen loved spending time with her family – but most of all treasured her time with her beloved granddaughter Anayahlys. She was a great cook and enjoyed family outings. She enjoyed music and dancing and being amongst the elderly – always brought her peace. She made friends easily wherever she went and always made people around her laugh. She also loved Patriots football!!
Although our hearts are heavy, we find comfort that you are in heaven watching over us. Thank you for loving us.
A calling hour will be held from 11:00 – noon on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, followed by a procession to Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster St, Worcester, where a graveside service will be held in Section 108A of Hope at 12:30 pm.
