RUTLAND – Bruce Edward La Cross, 71, of Rutland, died Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford.
He leaves two sons, Joshua L. and Brandon La Cross, both of Rutland, his former wife, Irene La Cross of Rutland, two nieces and one nephew, his caretakers and friends that Bruce will forever be appreciative for, Brian and Cammy O’Coin, Meg Starbard, Michele, and Tim. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard R. La Cross. He was born in Worcester, son of Lionel L. and Bernice (Broman) La Cross.
Bruce was a sanitation truck driver for the City of Worcester for many years. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and was honorably discharged as a Corporal E4. Bruce loved fishing at Quabbin Reservoir. He was active in the Boy Scouts and coaching baseball in Rutland.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday February 15, 2024 from 4-6 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester. Burial will be held privately at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
